Dr. Asano has been affiliated with Nihon University since 1999, initially serving as an Assistant Professor. In 2009, he became a charter diplomate of the Japanese College of Veterinary Surgeons (JCVS). Since 2015, Dr. Asano has held the position of Professor of Veterinary Surgery at Nihon University, where he is actively involved in teaching, clinical research, and practice at the university hospital.
Dr. Asano supervises a laboratory that includes five graduate students and 56 clinical trainees from private animal hospitals. His primary focus lies in small animal soft tissue surgery, with particular expertise in surgical oncology, including procedures for hepatic, adrenal, gastrointestinal, pancreatic, prostatic, and intrathoracic tumors. Additionally, he has extensive experience in endoscopic surgery and interventional radiology, such as percutaneous transvenous coil embolization and transarterial chemoembolization.
Dr. Asano performs approximately 250 surgical cases annually and has authored a total of 85 scientific publications to date.
