Jiwoong Her

Bio
Dr. Jiwoong Her is an associate professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care, and Nephrology at North Carolina State University. He earned his DVM from Chungnam National University in South Korea and completed evaluated clinical experience at Louisiana State University. After an ECC internship at Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, Dr. Her completed a master’s degree and residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at Auburn University in 2020. He then served as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the Ohio State University before joining NCSU in 2024. During his time at the OSU, he completed a fellowship in Extracorporeal Therapies and began a residency in the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology. His clinical interests focus on extracorporeal therapies, kidney disease, fluid therapy, oxygenation, and ventilation. His scholarly interests center on advancing the diagnosis and treatment of critical conditions, including sepsis, respiratory diseases, and kidney diseases in dogs and cats.
