Dr. Marta Leiva was born in Barcelona, where she obtained her Veterinary Degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine, followed by a European Residency in Comparative Veterinary Ophthalmology. In 2005, she was awarded the ECVO Diploma and joined the Ophthalmology Service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at UAB, where she has been working ever since as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. She earned her PhD in 2007. Dr. Leiva has been actively involved with the ECVO, serving on several committees. She is an international lecturer and the author of over 100 scientific publications, including national and international peer-reviewed papers, as well as several book chapters in internationally recognized ophthalmology textbooks.

Dr. Koh earned his veterinary degree in Taiwan and pursued advanced training with a specialty internship and a Master’s program in acupuncture and integrative medicine at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He is board certified in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds multiple certifications in acupuncture, rehabilitation, pain management, medical manipulation, herbal medicine, food therapy, and palliative and hospice care. Currently a full Professor at Chi University, Dr. Koh previously served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has contributed numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications on acupuncture, TCVM, rehabilitation, pain management, laser, and integrative medicine. His clinical expertise emphasizes multi-modal and interdisciplinary approaches to optimize outcomes, improve function, and enhance quality of life, with a strong focus on pain management and mobility.

Dr. Sun-A Kim received her DVM from Chungnam National University, South Korea, in 2005 and a PhD degree from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 2023. She completed a veterinary behavior medicine residency at UC Davis in 2020. Dr. Kim then worked as a clinical professor at Chungbuk National University before relocating to Cornell in 2024 as the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Assistant Professor in the Duffield Institute for Animal Behavior and Department of Clinical Sciences. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.

Dr. Kim is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, and currently a professor of veterinary clinical pathology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Seoul National University. Dr. Kim graduated Seoul National University with BS and MS, and completed the PhD and residency combined program in the veterinary pathology at the University of Georgia. After 3 years of post-doctoral training at the US National Institute of Health, he worked as a tenure track faculty of veterinary pathology at the North Carolina State University. Since moving to Seoul National University in 2011, he is working on research projects about veterinary diagnostic medicine, molecular carcinogenesis and provides diagnostic service for SNU Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and local veterinarians.
